Sepsis contributes to half of all deaths in hospitals and low public awareness and response to symptoms has resulted in a high death toll.
60% of Australians have never heard of Sepsis and only 14% could name its symptoms.
It’s estimated the treatment of Sepsis in intensive care units is more than $39,000 per patient or $4846 million annually with the ongoing treatment, loss of income and other survivors estimated at over $1.5 billion.
