New Adventist HealthCare CEO Mr Brett Goods

Brett Goods has been appointed as the new CEO for Adventist HealthCare.

Brett has been General Manager of Sydney Adventist Hospital since April 2014 and has been acting as Chief Executive Officer since November 2017.

In making the announcement Chairman of the Adventist HealthCare Board and President of the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Pastor Glenn Townend said the decision comes after lengthy and thorough consideration of best local and international applicants with the expertise, knowledge and leadership capacity to lead NSW’s largest not for profit and private hospital.

Pastor Townend said Brett’s appointment complements the skills, passion and commitment of the San Hospital and San Day Surgery Hornsby healthcare practitioners and teams.

“Brett is well known to many at Adventist HealthCare having graduated from the San/Avondale College of Nursing in 1986, before working in Cardiac services, including Nursing Unit Manager of the San’s Cardiac Surgical Ward and Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Perioperative Services.

Since leaving the San in 2002, Brett has worked in a range of roles including Director of Perioperative Services at St Vincent’s & Mater Health (Mater North Sydney), at Healthe Care Australia as CEO/Director of Nursing at Toronto Private Hospital, and as CEO of Mayo Private Hospital and Community Nursing Services Taree.”

Brett’s 25 years experience in senior management and executive roles in the private hospital sector has been cemented by a number of leadership and management programs including an Advanced Diploma in Business Management through New England University.

Pastor Townend said Brett would work with the clinicians, leaders and teams across Adventist HealthCare building on the Hospital’s ongoing evolution to meet community needs first started when it was established in 1903.

“Brett is an enthusiastic Christian leader, with vision, and a broad range of abilities to support that vision.  We look forward to the leadership Brett will provide, and pray God’s continued blessing on him and Adventist HealthCare.”
